Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
Not at all. The quote form takes just six pieces of information: gender, birth date, how you'd describe your general health, whether you use tobacco, the coverage amount you're interested in, and the term length. Those six answers are sufficient to retrieve rates from carriers. Your name, address, and medical information stay private unless you decide to apply.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
The prices displayed reflect what each carrier is quoting for your selected health classification. Once you apply, the carrier's underwriting team makes the final decision on your rate class, which could stay the same, improve, or shift higher. These quotes are estimates intended for information only; they are not an insurance offer or a rate guarantee.
What happens when I click Apply?
Selecting Apply takes your information and creates an application based on the specific quote you selected. From there, you move into a secure application portal run by the insurance carriers' platform. You're able to save your progress and return later, and the entire signing process happens online. Will I need a medical exam?
The answer depends on which carrier you choose, the coverage amount you select, and the information you provide in your application. Many carriers today use what's called accelerated underwriting, allowing qualified applicants to skip a traditional exam; the quote details for each carrier show whether an exam is required, might be required, or is not needed.
Is a longer term better?
A term length should match the period when someone's financial loss would hurt your household: the years of a mortgage, while children are growing up, or while a business depends on your income. Longer terms come with higher monthly payments but lock in your rate for more years.
